Burt Lake “Burnout” Recommendations – 2018
After a careful review, the President’s Advisory Committee on University History recommended appropriate steps to address the atrocious prior history connected with land on Burt Lake now owned by the university and part of the U-M Biological station. President Schlissel accepted the committee’s recommendations and asked the dean of the College of Literature, Science, and the Art, to take the lead on implementing the recommendations. The work is being done in consultation with the relevant Native American communities.
